Private Acts is an artistic collaboration and research between Tuuli Vahtola and Jan Nyberg. They share a need to think of the private and personal aspects of a performing body. Through textual and movement based awareness exercises they aim to create viewpoints on the performers’ privacy, on stage and in ongoing processes.
What are private acts in performance? How does one act private?
Who has the right to the others’ private?
Who has the right to expose their private to others?
How to sustain the agency and privacy of the dancer while repeating a memorised movement phrase?
