Artists Ella Skoikka, Tuuli Vahtola, and Kaisa Rajahalme explore intimacy as a multifaceted medium for communicating fear, desire, longing, pleasure, and release—while drawing inspiration from the worlds of horror, gothic stories, and myths. Kiss me where my heart is reflects on the points where horror and eroticism converge, their representations, and their transgressive effects on consciousness.
The working title Kiss me where my heart is refers both to vampiric bloodlust and to the humane longing for connection, love, and intimacy. The work sets out to explore the flowing movement of the senses and imagination: Skoikka and Vahtola delve into the sensuous, lustful, and monstrous play that occurs between them—and which they understand as something fundamental to humanity.
The project is a continuation of Skoikka, Vahtola and Rajahalme’s previous collaborations Poet in my – my life as Fabou (2022) and intimate expectations (2023), both of which were co-produced by Ehkä-production and shown as part of Contemporary Art Space Kutomo’s program.
